03/10/2025 Veritas Presbytery Minutes - Draft 06

  • MOTION: to release with regret and sadness Stacy Cox to the Southern Baptist Convention. Motion made by the Moderator and 2nd by Seth Yi. Motion Carried Letter of Release Written
  • Stated Meeting – August 19, 2025 is our One year anniversary at Newberry Presbyterian Church
  • Online Weekly Prayer on Tuesdays at 8:30 AM
  • The Moderator requested for each church & minister to submit their call to the Presbytery. 
  • Steven Bane gave a devotional history on Philip Henry. Father of Matthew Henry.
  • Reviewing the PCA Book of Church Order as a possible set of documents for Veritas Presbytery. Comments from the floor were in support for all ministers and sessions to review the BCO and be prepared to discuss the document at our next meeting.
  • Affirmation / Denial Committee report by John Paul Marr. MOTION by the Moderator to thank the Affirmation / Denial Committee and move it to a Finalization Committee composed of the Moderator and the Clerk. (2nd by Jonathon Cook) Requesting changes and revisions by the end of April. Motion Carried
  • Meeting with the Catawba Commission regarding allegations against four of our members. Nothing seemed to be coming out of that meeting.

10/14/2024 Veritas Presbytery Minutes

  • A motion was made to grant floor privileges to guests Paul Mulner and Steven Hoffer from Covenant of Grace Presbyterian Church in Dunwoody, Georgia. They provided information about Geneva Benefits and later shared that a member of their fellowship had offered to cover any outstanding legal costs incurred by the churches. A prayer of thanksgiving was given by the Moderator.
  • to look into the future incorporation of Veritas Presbytery.
  • to plan our next Stated Meeting on March 10 at Unity Presbyterian at 10:30 AM.

09/09/2024 Veritas Presbytery Minutes

Motions:

  • Nomination and appointment of Steven Bane to serve as Vice-Moderator of Veritas Presbytery (2024-2025);
  • Nomination and appointment of Tony Locke to serve as Stated Clerk of Veritas Presbytery (2024-2025);
  • Nomination and appointment of Stacey Cox to chair a Transfer Committee to include the Moderator, Vice-Moderator, and Stated Clerk;
  • Moderator write a Letter of Introduction and distribute it to presbyteries and to NAPARC leadership;
  • That the Moderator, with the Stated Clerk, begin official correspondence with Geneva Benefits using a Letter of Introduction as a means to gain clarity regarding the relationship between Veritas Presbytery and Geneva Benefits and plan a way forward to continue that relationship;
  • That Stacey Cox serve as an Evangelist and that the Moderator appointed Provisional Session be discontinued at this time;
